The Reformed and Lutheran churches are two of the original Protestant traditions. They share a common history, similar theology, and both were heavily influenced by Martin Luther. Yet, they maintain distinct differences between one another. This video aims to cover just three yet important differences between these two branches of Christianity, and why they have these differences.

I am a LCMS Lutheran. I think you explained the differences very well. Confessional Lutherans hold strongly to the doctrine of Total Depravity, although we don't often refer to it that way. I think Calvinism is a logical view, starting from Total Depravity, but I think it ignores some Verses in it's attempt to be "logical". Other views, like Provisionism, may take into account the verses Calvinism "ignores", but fall apart in light of their "ignoring" the clear doctrine of Total Depravity. I'm not trying to be rude. Just trying to explain my view in a few words. I must say, if I wasn't Lutheran, I would be Calvinist. I don't know how to reconcile the verses used by both sides, all I can say is that it's a mystery 🙂
