Why u making it complicated to this folks.. In simple SQL is query Language and MySQL is software like SQL Server, Oracle, Netizza, Teradata, Postgre, Datastage etc. & All this Software uses SQL.

1. SQL has 3 letters whereas MySQL has 5 letters.
2. SQL is independent & MySQL is mine.
3. SQL has all upper case letters & MySQL has one lower case letter.
