'ASK A MUSLIM' Takes Down Islam Stereotypes!
Показать описание
How one couple helped bridge one of society's divides — with understanding, compassion, and doughnuts.
Mona and her husband were scared to leave the house after the San Bernardino attacks, and they decided to take back the narrative and invite strangers to “Ask a Muslim.” They started it as an effort to ease anti-Muslim sentiment at a local level through opening up a dialogue between themselves and their neighborhood. News headlines and rhetoric did not represent them accurately. They wanted people to feel comfortable talking to them not just about Islam, but about anything!
"Another Person’s Shoes" is a new series from Upworthy that gives viewers the unique perspective of experiencing what an underserved person of a different gender, culture, society, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and/or other walk of life encounters daily. Each episode provides viewers empathy and understanding of the challenges these people face in daily situations most others may take for granted.
