A True Game-Changer for RVers: Starlink Internet Is Here!

AFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURE: Friends, making a quality Loloho video is kind of like making sausage – only slightly more violent. It's a ridiculous amount of work that typically involves high dollar camera drops, blue-screen-of-death computer crashes, and at least one angry shotgun wielding old man shouting, “Hey! Get the hell outta here!” Once the final video is posted, rewards here on YouTube are few and far between (unless you are a masochist who enjoys being verbally abused by anonymous trolls). One saving grace is our affiliate links. JUST CLICKING THESE LINKS HELPS TO SUPPORT OUR LITTLE SHOW. Think of this clicking as like tipping - except that it doesn't cost you anything extra! If you eventually make a purchase via one of our affiliate links, we will receive a few pennies (and Sean typically invests these pennies in duct tape and video gear). Again, it doesn't cost you anything to click these links, and it's a great help to us. As always, safe travels, happy camping, and THANK YOU!

I have seen dozens of videos by RV "influencers" who got it for free. Whether you paid for it or not, your wit makes me love your videos. I am next door in GA. Love you guys.

Interesting product for sure. One of the reasons I love camping so much mind you is to get away. Quite happy to be off in a quiet spot with no phone or internet or anything but the trailer, my wife, a bottle of wine or two, some good hiking or biking near by and of course a few good books as well. I realize for some it apparently is quite necessary to be constantly connected, but for some of us the disconnected life works beautifully. As always, safe travels....

For WAY off-grid campers out West with ZERO cell service, SL is revolutionary. A side benefit with that type of use are the speeds one enjoys with a wide open network - 300 mb is not uncommon. Suspending service ($0/mo) when not on-the-road makes it’s annual cost manageable.

The wife and I have had one for about a year now. We are on the roam package. It is for us truly a game changer. We live and camp in the west, most of the time far from a cell tower. While not perfect, it is the only real option we have. As long as we have north west clear patch of sky, we have service. We average about 60 megs up and 15 down, but have had as high as 150 up. The biggest con so far is two price increases since signing up. Hope they are done with that for a while.

$600 for parts and $150 a month just to watch tv. A little more than my traveling needs are budgeted for.

We got ours last April, just before the RV plan became available, so we had to play games with the “service address” in order to get it, but we converted it to the RV plan when they started allowing that. Now you can order the RV package and they won’t waitlist you. Being in Ohio, we’ve had mixed results on speed- it was never meant to be the best internet source in populated areas, and we knew that when we ordered it. It’s definitely been useful in situations where we didn’t have cell service. Thanks for reviewing Starlink without hating on Elon, lol, he might be crazy, but he’s doing some interesting things.

We definitely do not spend substantial amounts of time in our travel trailer; therefore, Starlink is not for us. Well, not yet. Great video as always.

Always like your informative videos and this is no exception. It is nice to know it is available if needed. Sort of costly, but so is everything else. Thanks for sharing and take care.

I found the Oukitel very interesting, will have to look through your videos for any review on that!

I’ve been watching the satellite tracking app for a couple years and Starlink satellites up have increased exponentially.

So we had a Dish something Network internet once. It had connection issues during bad weather/heavy clouds. How is StarLink’s performance in bad weather/heavy clouds?

We were in Ontario all of last summer and Starlink was the only option that worked reliably.

I dont know if it is my system, but the audio in this video rises and falls.

Lots of dependencies re connectivity and I'net speed, not the least of which can be "things" in the RF path: tree branches, weather (rain, sleet/hail), cloud cover with a lot of moisture content, signal cancellation d/t reflections from other objects in the visinity (somebody else's Airstream ;-)) etc.

BTW: Sean, do you recommend your method of cable management for stowing Starlink equipment?

Have had StarLink at our home and Love it! May consider taking it with us when we start traveling later this fall. Have you done any special wiring so you can have your router in the trailer or do leave everything outside? Keep up the great vids.
