Good job Manohar. You are making all of us proud. I am classmate of your Father in Law Satya. Your presentation is very interesting and clear. Keep up with developin these new technologies. We are very excited!

The most important part of Ronald's portion of the presentation is that VR has evolved in the sense that it can now basically scan you and create an almost awesome avatar. There is still a lot of work to be done, but Ronald wants us all to know that this is "ground breaking", when most all of us are thinking... "so?" - and then of course he talked about privacy and security, because that is the key underlining theme.

Getting into Margaret Stewart - herr apparent opening is some sort of nostalgia, for her and us.

This AI has removed our main Instagram account yesterday, which was in full compliance with Instagram's community guidelines. The same content still exists on Facebook since we opted to share Instagram posts to Facebook as well, no problem there. More than two years of work gone in a heartbeat!

I also like how Joaquin starts his section of this, with a coding joke - and it just falls flat - crickets in the background. lol

I am still curious.... are there words or word phrases (no matter the context) that will be banned? And if you do get to a review from a real person, what is the course to determine if what was written or said was really a violation of the ToS? What is the bar? The first amendment? of the US? Or some other law?

Still excited about her analysis and solutions to AR/VR. And excited for her changes. Or the changes she mentions in the presentation at least. A far more in depth approach.

Margaret Stewart... she does try to pull on your heart strings. But still positive changes from her portion.

"The future you just saw, one where you're represented by full body avatars, and can feel instantly present with other people; where you're at play or at work and everywhere in between; that's the promise of VR."

Lindsay wants us to think the promise of VR is that we can use virtual reality for everything we have desired in the past - work and play - all social interactions. (almost makes me think she didn't pay attention to Ronald). Yes, it seems like a great dream. We can finally live as "lawn mower men". VR is, according to Facebook, the next frontier.... And then she discuses safety - because that is the theme of F8 as I discussed.

Now up, Lade Obamehinti on AR/VR - I dont expect to have any concerns about this tech or speaker really. I think this is a tech that has been massively underused and misunderstood, and I am hoping FB and MZ & Team can capitalize on that. Woot!

And the presentation is handed over to Lindsay Young, to explain how we can all feel secure in our Avatars and VR. (and, Ronald says, to explain what we are doing today with VR ...) Lets see what she

Now Ronald Mallet as the second speaker for AR/VR.... not sure why Lade couldnt just do all 20 minutes or so, but ok....

Also.... Manohar's discussion about the X & Y axis.... that is completely made up.... I mean, what are the data points he is using to even demo that? And what was that odd comment about, "the south"... maybe his English or the CC was bad... but ...Idk.

To be honest, though she seems a bit inflated at first, when she gets into design, there are designs that she created (or at least explains) that I think are very helpful visual tools. However, some of it is still reliant on the programming and standards of her predecessor speakers. And for that, I give her one and a half thumbs up.Na... 2 and a half thumbs up, because I like her guff and reasoning. And these changes are actually good.

Still, Lade's presentation puts into mind that Facebook has a long ways to go for AR/VR... nothing fascinating. Just a lot of fixes. Which is still great. But lets be honest, AR/VR tech is still a couple decades or more from where we want it to be. But that is ok, because just a couple decades ago, it was 100 years from where we wanted it to be.

Also, Joaquin, it is not supportive of your "Fairness Principle" that you flag groups MORE OFTEN then others, because they have been flagged more often in the past.... Am I missing something with that? It seems like you mean to flag at equal rates proportionately, but not exactly "fairly". Perhaps I am wrong. I do understand that groups in the past that have committed violations may be more prone to commit them again, but its not exactly fair that your reporting results indicate that you are flagging them at the same levels as the past. Do these creator not learn there lessons? Are they doomed to be confined in the Facebook Algorithmic AI dungeon forever?
