Do you have to use a bladed weapon to cut the tail off? The wiki implies you can get it with a hammer, but I've been aiming for its tail for 3 kills now and it's not coming off.

Cool! Never thought of this while playing the beta but say the monster was to walk off and you chase it do you see on the mini map where the tail is so you can come back and carve or does it do something stupid like diassapear if you don't carve it quick enough?
