It’s called Instinctive disconnect button, Not disengage. Also the “blue circle” called TLA thrust lever angle.

Thanks, I was doing it wrong but now I know 😊 I usually do it on the simulator prior landing on short runways in bad conditions because my software predicts a lower landing distance with manual autothrust. Is it wrong?

If the A/THR button in FCU is pushed to disconnect will the thrust still shoot up to match the thrust lever position ?

you just need to press 1 instinctive disconnect to disengage the auto thrust, no need for both
