Millennial wedding vibes

When you’re a millennial who got married during the peak millennial core era 😝 Not pictured are the 1 million mason jars 😉

In case anyone is unfamiliar with this trend, this song is not a real song. It’s a parody of the folk hipster music that was so prevalent during this time. People began taking this song and showing pictures of what “millennial core” looks like. Example: Overpriced “gourmet” burger joints with metal stools, funky art work, board games, and nothing but craft beer all while saying they don’t use ketchup but rather a garlic aioli sauce because they aren’t like the ✨other✨ places 😉

What are some trendy things for the times you did at your wedding? Or what’s your favorite “millennial core” thing? Honestly this was a fun time period. There was an innocence about it. It was the world right before social media became what it is today ❤️

I beleive in this thing I call the cringe curve and it happens with all cultural trends with varying levels of necessary time. Something this trendy in 2011 is, while clearly earnest and charming, a little aesthetically dated now. But weddings from 1920, 1960, 1980 that absolutely smack of the decade they happened in are now very charming. It takes time. Following trends is participating in the world as it happens, and thats what you should want for yourself. You participated in 2011, you didn't let it pass you, you revelled in it. And thats a deeply beautiful thing that it may take the rest of the world 50 more years to appreciate what you can appreciate now

Prom in 2011: posed on the train tracks in my dress and ✨converse✨
Married in 2016: with the ✨gold and teal✨ color scheme and cupcakes instead of a wedding cake

😂 2013 wedding and yep had it all! Barn reception, mason jars, mint and coral colors, square halo ring. But still happily married and wouldn’t change a thing 💛

This is honestly really cute and nostalgic.. I love when things are dated cause it really captures the essence of the life and trends back then..

I know those tracks too well. 😂 Everyone in the county also did class pictures there in the 2010s

I got married in 2012 when I was 21. I might be confused by now, but wasn't this also around the time people were doing a lot of mustache theme things for their weddings? Lol
