Hydrocarbon Testing for Blown Head Gasket

This is a simple test to perform if you suspect a blown head gasket on your vehicle especially if you have overheating and loss of coolant with no visible signs. Note that this vehicle had no signs of coolant in the oil, and the pressure test checked good.

Mine went green, not yellow on my 2011 Subaru STi when i tested it on the tank on the highest point, but it didnt get yellow or green on the pressuretank or radiator….what does that mean? Ive got oil in my coolant tank though, but my Car does not overheat, i dont have coolant in the oil, only oil in the coolant. Ive checked the oilcap, no "sludge" or wear that indicates headgasket issue….hmmm. I also did a "Compression test" a trick i learned from a Subaru guy, and he Said, when the Car is turned off, push the clutch pedal all the way down with the gas pedal, then try to start the Car, the Car won’t start, but the Car should make Even noise, and if it doesnt, when it makes uncosistent noise, then i got a leak. When i did that test, it seemed very normal and had even noise….sorry for my english, but i hope you understand me:-) hope for a reply.
