Next time try the following: Aprapransa and palm nut soup; Aboloo and one-man thousand (tiny fish) and fried shrimps; Mpoto Mpoto, either made with yam or cocoyam; Cocoyam with Kontomire stew /palava sauce. When having your boiled yam and Kontomire stew /palava sauce, ask that the yams be lariboko or Punjo (these yams are next level)

Big ups man... Kontombre is highly nutritious. You did try yaw and garden egg stew, tuo safi, atsekye etc there are Soo many food here in Ghana you didn't tast. The next time you visit Ghana try these foods. Love you guys.

In Ghana, when you mention shito, it is the black sauce. It is made from shrimp powder, dried herring powder and lots of pepper. Some people make it with just pepper though. The red and green ones are more of m3ko (merko), where they grind pepper, onions, ginger and tomatoes (in the case of thr red m3ko) in an asanka

You should have tried tuo zaafi if you liked kontomire, I’m sure you would have enjoyed it. It doesn’t have the sourness of kenkey or banku and the soup is really good

I agree you might like the sweet Fante kenkey better it's not sour. And yes Jollof rice is good depending on who makes it, some people don't make it well whereas some people make very good Jollof rice.

Red red is supposed to be a vegetarian dish. Black eyed beans well cooked very soft. Seved with zomi. You don't need chillies sause with it. It is a dish from.the volta region. And togo. You need more time to get. The traditional idea about his dish

Great review! I'm Ghanaian and Kontomire with boiled yam and plantain is my absolute favourite Ghanian food also! Also like you I am not a fan of kenkey or banku if not for the sauces and fish that come with kenkey and Banku I would never eat it lol so go figure! To each his own...lol
