"Why are there no new Mega Man games?"

Simple, despite being one of Capcoms' alleged 4 pillars, he's not a high priority for them gaming wise. Opting instead to mainly prioritize on Merch, Cameos, Books and Figurines with the occasional retro collection.

My opinion is that there are no new Mega Man games for a simple reason: There isn't anyone at Capcom with a big plan and strategy for it. There isn't a "Mega Man Mastermind" with a mega plan for Mega Man and how to make the series popular again while also making something different and fresh.

They know Mega Man is beloved, they know Mega Man is famous, but aside from Mega Man as a easter egg and appearances in other game series like MvC and Smash Bros, they don't have an idea what to do with the series. Nothing, zilch, nada.

The basic Mega Man formula is so simple that it’s baffling they don’t have a new game every 2 years. Two 2D platformers then an open world game and repeat.

Honestly, the thing I'm currently more surprised about is the fact we're still missing two collections, being Star Force and Legends. Like... Legends is extremely popular and Tron's a fan favorite, so putting that and her game together seems like a no-brainer.

Star Force? Honestly, I'm surprised it wasn't bundled together with Battle Network like they did for Zero and ZX.

Despite how beloved Megaman is, the games do not often sell or rate very highly. And especially since Keiji Inafune left Capcom, there probably isn't anyone at Capcom who is as adamant to make more Megaman games. They just aren't as successful as other titles like Resident Evil or Monster Hunter, sadly. I would love a new Megaman game though. I do hope they bring the IP back. I am still sad Megaman Legends 3 was cancelled.

All I just want is an actual Mega Man X9 that resolves the whole cliffhanger ending of X8 and we can find out what happened to Axl. That and Mega Man Legends 3.

If you ask me, the mega man series is perfect for that double A, less expensive game to make situation. Something they could release in between their big tent pole games that doesnt require a huge budget to make.

The only good way I can see this deadlock ending is if an _actually good_ animated series gets greenlit.
No Fully Charged, no Ruby-Spears, and for god's sake, _never let Adi Shankar near it._ The man's been posting on end about how Dr. Light is the real villain all over his Twitter.

Like DMC and MonHun fans eating, while LostPlanet and Viewtiful Joe fans starve to death

There's still a lot Capcom can do for Mega Man franchise:
1. Explaining in great detail of what actually happened to Dr. Light family before he made X and what happened after he starts the 30 year diagnostics on X;
2. How the X franchise's story ends before continuing into Zero franchise;
3. The same goes as above for ZX franchise before continukng into Legends franchise;
4. Last but not least, what will ever happen to Volnutt and friends after the end of Legends 2 (a.k.a. "Mega Man Legends 3 when").

Mega man is one of my favorite series of all time I would love for him to make a comeback. If they won’t make a new game at least give us a collection of the legends games with the tron bonne spin off included.

I feel the true reason that we don't get any new Mega Man games was because Keiji Inafune left CAPCOM after getting promoted. They cancelled all their projects like Mega Man Universe, MMX Reboot by the Metroid Prime devs, MMX MMO and Legends 3 to spite him. The ONLY reason why MM11 was made was because Keiji made the failed Mighty #9. It was to prove a point to Keiji that they can not only make a Mega Man game but a MUCH better game then him as a big FU/middle finger. It may or may not be true but it's my personal theory. It lines up cause MM11 was made immediately after Mighty #9. After selling EXTREMELY never made a sequel sad cause I use to be a huge fan boy to Mega Man series but after all the cancellations and backing Mighty #9 during that became very discouraged less interested in the hell ever freezes over and Pigs Fly with CAPCOM announcing a Mega Man X9, maybe I would get

38 million units in 36 years - meanwhile mh wilds around 8 millions units 5 days. RE franchise around $9 billions.

capcom's made the same empty promise all over again and it's not like those promises mean anything given their track record so they should just either pull the plug and officially announced mega Man's retirement or just give us what we've been asking for but whatever they do they need to stop jerking us around stringing us along and teasing us
