Loved these video's when i started playing and i think they're a great resource for this game. That said a few tips for beginners for the first boss:

1. A blood grove should be placed covering the camp tile. This allows you to kill the boss with 15% hp left on it.
2. Don't put down a bunch of threat generators right before the boss fight. Its usually better to keep placing resource tiles. And if you miscalculate like what happened in the video and your run is closer, this could land you in trouble.
3. Don't worry too much about saving oblivion cards. Its fairly easy to fill up the tiles around the camp. He just didn't do so effectively.
4. place villages when you can. But be careful about vampire villages early on. Villages give out quests which are very useful. So don't hesitate to put them down quick. Placing a mansion next to one disables healing and quests for 3 turns and turns it into a counts lands after that gives more rewards, but this is usually only useful on longer runs. Don't place these too liberally early on. Those 3 extra loops of healing and quests per village make a world of difference when your run is gonna end below 10 loops anyway.
5. you can play around with card layouts more. less threat cards means more meadows and rocks to place around. Treasury this early on is nice too for extra resources. You don't really need ruins or lanterns at all. Though lanterns help placing things around the camp i guess. But spider eggs and groves work for this just fine too. The extra great thing about treasuries is that you can leave one gap not filled in and when you finally do fill it in you'll get loot scaled to your current loop. Great for when you are about to face the boss or your gear is lagging behind a bit.
6. you can already kill the boss fairly painlessly after a run or 2 if you're careful. No need to grind out any cards you don't have at the very start, though especially villages and potions are definitely helpful.
7. Be careful about bunching up too many enemies early. Facing multiple tiles of 4 enemies at once will quickly overwhelm you. Keeping them spread out and fighting 2 at a time gives you more control. Though generally higher threat tiles do give more loot. A combo of bloodgrove, mansion and a weaker threat can be a fantastic source of gear if you have the strength to combat them. But should bandits spawn there as well you might be in trouble. This situation is where oblivion cards really shine.

to my calculation slimes are like half ur loop level reward while threats are either from 1.5 to 3x ur loop level i think if say you have a vampire mansion it 1x ur loop but if say you have a bandit camp upgraded by a swamp it become 1.5x ur loop to anyone wondering what im talking about the items you get from killing those monsters are dependant to the threat level of the tile your fighting on

lol I think only thing I was missing was to pre-emptly destroy bosses mansion. I never had enough oblivions. I think I will be fine when I get home and try it with these tips. Thanks.

i feel like the first few times i tried to fight the boss, i didn't know about the lich palaces, show it spawned anywhere from 1-8 of them. so even if i had a warrior with 30% vampirism and 10% attack speed (similar to your video), I wasn't able to take out the Lich.

the first time I defeated it, I was probably running about 50% vampirism and 100% speed, up around Loop 20 or something.

also some monster take more phys dmg some more magical and you only vampirism out of physical damage so it worth noting if you want to farm vampires get a magic build even 2 magic dmg early is enought to 1-2 shot them same with skeletons

Isn't it impossible to even get the Arsenal card before chapter 2? Since you need two Orbs of Craft to upgrade the Smithy into the Decent Forge and these only drop from artifical enemies in chapter 2.

When do you unlock Wheat fields, please?

I have done a few runs, and built kitchens, potions and the gym. I did unlock some new cards after this last run, but don't have Wheatfields yet. Do I just need to play more?

You talk about building buildings, etc., but when do you do that? If I go to the building screen and try to get back to the game, I end up starting over. Newbie question, but please help

Very nice at explaining the basics. The only thing i disagree on is the meadows being one of the weakest cards for soldier. I think this is certainly not the case in act 1. Combined with the chrono crystal blooming meadow gives + 6 hp for every tile. Combine this with high defense, retaliation, vampirism and most likely you will be full health a lot of the time. Healing 300+ hp every day can make you get away with very sub-par gear. After loop 11 or 12 things start to get dicey.
