There are so many myths around fitness it is confusing for so many. In college I was one of those confused and didn’t know so many things I read to be “healthy” were actually making it more difficult!!
1) Muscle soreness
While soreness can be a good thing you can have an amazing workout and not be sore at all! Depending on your goals you might want to be sore but balance, flexibility, and even strength (to a degree) are improved and might not leave you feeling sore.
2) More is better
It is tempting for many who want results to increase their time exercising. While sometimes this can be true other times it can leave some exhausted, cause injury, or not as motivated.
3) Exercise controls weight
Exercising does burn extra calories but weight is controlled more easily by what we eat or don’t eat.
4) Focus on target areas
When most people want to tone they actually want to lose body fat. Use diet to do this and train those muscles so they are strong.
5) cardio is the best way to lose weight
This can make some people overly hungry and eat too many calories.
