I used a JOYO Sweet Baby for the DIRT tones.

you cant really kick anyone for liking either cause, they both have tones that are like tools for different purposes...they are tools...fools...

From Leo: Tubes satisfy my ears as long as the player does not spoil it.

I think the tube amp had a more richer sound.

The only reason why people hate so hard on solid state is because when transistors first hit the scene, amp designers tried to use them as if they behaved exactly like tubes. When you design a circuit around the components, it will sound good.

For me its Solid State, mainly because I prefer consistency and don't want to worry about changing tubes -- In this video I like the Tube Tone better!

Personally, I liked the tube amp, but it may have as much to do with the speaker as the tubes. They both sound good, though.

Clean both sounded great, with the distortion in your example I preferred the tube, not swaying that the other one was bad, just preferred the tube sound from your sample. Cheers!

The tubes have such a warm sound to them definitely better

In this instance, the tubes did sound better as they generally do with just an amp alone wjth no backing music as context. Chuck 'em both into a lohd live gig and no one will care anyway. Especially with whats possible with modelling these days. Personally id be hapoy compromise that very small amount in tone to have amazing versatility whereas a tube amp is kind of a one trick pony . But the difderwnce between these two was a bit too marked, if you ask me. They cant have had the sane wattage /speakers / eq settings.

Using iem earbuds with 5 balanced amature drivers really makes a difference. Good quality video too 🔥

Both are great and have their own merits. In the nearly 50 years that I've been playing guitar, I've owned both and loved them both. I've been using SS combo amps almost exclusively for the past 2 decades, mostly for ease of transport but also for versatility and being more pedal-friendly. Just my pref.

They both have their place and strengths. In your demo, the tube amp seemed to have a “warmer” tone to me, but I really enjoyed both amps’ tones.

The clean sounds were very similar, but the overdriven sounds were completely different.
Not to say that modeling can't be done well, but if we're comparing, I'll take the tubes every time.

The tube sounded more full and bright playing clean, but the solid state had a kind of grungy driven tone I like.

I like the tube, consistent, sounds clear and real

All pleasing sounds. I preferred the Solid State for clean and Valve for Dirty.

Anyone who thinks digital amps can't sound great should listen to Dave Simpson play through them

Both had their own character. Use what you need when you need it.

I liked the vacuum more than the solid state, both clean and dirty . The vacuum/valve felt more colorful and richer, definitely holds some vintage taste too.
