I’m not shocked that the comments are divided. Fujifilm is offering us GREAT choices. I bring my x-s20 with me everywhere and prefer it over the Q2, my normal every day carry; the X-T50 bring even smaller appeals to me but I’m worried about the battery life and high megapixel noise as I regularly shoot ISO 1600 - 6400.

I even returned my XT5 for the XT50 because of weight and seize. The body of the XT5 is the same size as my Sony A7III. The 50 is the perfect low profile camera for my style of travel photography. Before I was using a XT20. I can use this set up professionally without people thinking I am a pro. I'm using a Macbook Air M1 and having no problems with the files.

I agree. Love the X-S20 and glad I bought one.

I had the X-S20 and traded it in for the x-t50. I prefer the X-T50. I mainly shoot photography and just a bit of video. The flip out screen on the X-S20 always felt awkward when I was trying to react to get a shot, so I thought, what the hay, buy the x-t50 and return it if I didn't like it. First, the extra crop I get on the 40 mp sensor is great, I didn't expect that. I also was able to get set faster with the tilt vs flip screen. I am a hobby shooter and don't need pro features so the x-t5 was overkill. I love the x-t50 even more than I did the X-S20. Both are great but if you mainly shoot photos get the x-t50 and if you vlog or do more video, get the X-S20. Also, the x-t50 has a way better grip than the x-t30.
Love your content, keep it up!

I'm not bothered by the battery (since I got loads of square ones) and I don't take photos in a machine gun way, (I almost never use CH or CL) 2 square battery's gets me through a day taking photos, however; if I was shooting video, I'd 100% take the new battery over the old if that was the choice.

26MP or 40MP.... I currently use both.

The 26MP is great, no issues, and enough resolution when I'm in the studio, or have the correct lens available. 40MP is great when you are in a situation you need to crop... co out with just a 23mm lens crop to 35mm FOV and you still got a 20MP+ photo (which is why the 40MP was the right choice for the X100 VI)

I'm not in the market for either... but as someone that has both sensors, and shoots both. as they both have the new processor, I'd make a decision based on the use case.

X-T50 If photo first, and you will only have 1 or 2 lenses at the start to give you that ability to crop.
X-S20 If video first and you know you have the lenses you will need to fill the frame.

Seriously though, I can not see myself buying a new camera for the foreseeable future.
Image quality reached a peak with the X-T3 (X-Trans 4 sensor) where it is good enough in all but extreme conditions (for my use)
Now we use, X-T3s, X-T5s, an X-100 VI professionally.

If both X-T3s suddenly stop working (which I doubt as at least one is kept in exceptional condition) I'd probably look to an X-H2s for video, but may well get an X-S20, but whilst everything is working the X-T3s do an excellent job in 4K for my needs (same sensor as X-S20) and use tripods and gimbals so IBIS is not required (although I wouldn't buy a camera without IBIS as gimbals get heavy, yet IBIS is never as good but would give up the extra weight).

Edit.

I did learn to avoid Macbook M1s for editing thanks (none of my pc's have an issue with the 40MP files, even an older 11th gen quad core i7 laptop), also in the UK there seems to be lots of availability for every Fuji X camera apart form the X100VI

I have an XT4 but I think I would get the xs20 for the open gate

For the price range and specifications, I concur that the X-S20 is the best choice!

Dude, that 360 is insane. If I was fortunate enough to be choosing between the two I'd go with the XS-20. I do wish it was WR and had 2 card slots though. However, it would be a great hiking camera because of the size, battery life and grip. Jeez, that 360 footage makes give me anxiety!! LOL!! Hope you are doing well, have a great weekend.

Xs 20 for me, the old battery in xt50 is a no go for me. I have rhe xh2 as my main camera and xs20 complements it perfectly.

I don’t appreciate hearing the entire farewell. “Thanks so much” 😢 Also I would also choose the XS20 for its hybrid capabilities

Man, I been thinking about trading my xs20 for the t50 based on the look of the camera 😂 but the old battery is a no no.
