This product worked well to cover my grays and my hair is very shiny! I used espresso brown, my grays look like subtle brown highlights to my very dark hair.

So I use this product. I love it. What I find is this…..when I use, I rinse and condition only after the color but I also use a color booster that is meant for Demi or permanent hair color and that little bottle of color booster is the bomb. I mix with the color in a color bowl and then apply with a brush. I find this color booster at Sally’s. I do repeat my roots a couple times to get rid of the brassy color from the prominent grays at my face and then only comb through the ends. Very natural and beautiful color and my hair is healthy and shinny. I am at least 50-60 percent gray at my face.

I literally have to use heat and a processing cap with this, or I will have spots of grey. I also allow it to cool down completely before I rinse off. My greys are extremely hard to dye.

It seems that the formula must have changed over the years. This used to work well for me but now I have to wash with a clarifying shampoo and vinegar rinse before I use the recent products and even the it only last about 3 shampoos and I am less than 30% grey.

Flawless and friendly presentation. Either there is no oxygen in my hair or this product is not for me. The product DID NOT cover any grays, in fact made them shiny and brighter. I followed the instructions carefully and correctly. My dark hair got darker, but the silver grey is just sparkling, laughing at me. I have lightly relaxed, short, 3cs (when natural) hair. Natural hair color is black. Coloring with "natural black"

Unfortunately, this did not work for me. I mixed 4R (Mahogany Red Brown) and 2A (Rick Dark Brown) but it barely covered my grays; maybe I just have too much gray for semi perm color. My hair is probably about 50-60% gray; however, most of it is in the front of my head to about my ears. I followed the instructions to the letter and despite not shampooing after the color (only conditioning), most of the color went down the drain (on the gray hairs) and I was left with blondish-gold hair (with some gray popping through). The coverage on the rest of my naturally dark brown hair was fine. I don't want to permanently color so I guess it'll be back to gray when this washes out. Does anyone know how often this color can be used; I was considering reapplying it in the front only to see if it would pick up a little more color?
