As an absolute noob, I wanted to make it so that this barebones, test webpage can also be accessed from a machine that's not connected to the same LAN. I imagine this is considerably more complicated, where should I start? Where can I learn how to do this? Thanks

I haven't watched your video yet, but I wanted to say that I've had it up to here (Mary Antoinette point of the neck) with Linux and its silly permission problems when it comes to installing Apache. No reason one can't easily set up a web server in a user's home directory, instead of having to be in root just to upload or change a webpage because it's in /var/www or /srv or something :( The more and more I use Linux the less I see a need for it. I'd been away from it for the past 4 years or so, but it's STILL difficult to get hardware working on it, Steam doesn't work properly in Linux for gaming, the web browsers are clunky, the Apache install and setup process is a MESS. Back to Windows 10 for me.
