Very good analysis. He has managed to put in context what I believe to be true. Having been through post graduate University and being informed I was a colonist who had ravaged the country. I was not certain if I was in the correct lecture, but worryingly I was. Judged by my skin colour the first person in my family attain a degree, all else were Army or miners, poorly educated hard working, who passed away well below the average life expectancy. Please keep up the commentary, many of us who feel the same are worried about losing their job and home.

I may find some pushback on this but here goes. The attitude of “I know what’s best for you” sounds much like my mother growing up. And now I see some of this coming from the hyper visibility of women in our culture. As a woman and a former business owner, I want to see women do well. But I know even in my own case, I can get bossy and motherly. That same trait is spilling over into all kinds of areas in academia, politics, religion, etc. IMHO

Its called The Narrative. One view and one view only is allowed. Here's the thing, (and I..Could..Be..Wrong), take 3 topics (lets say) Abortion, Climate Change, Tax policy. Those who are Pro-Choice, are Climate Alarmists, want Higher taxes, Same People.
Point being this war we are engaged in (and so far its pretty much non violent) is about more than just one topic. Its Two competing world views.

I dont agree with you professor, in the old days we all have to read Ruperth Murdoch newspapers and watching Kerry Packer control the television. They even sack the editors and journalist dont agree with them on political issues and policy. People doesnt have choices, now we can watch and read news from all over the world. By the way, my uncle living in Southern California, he refused to settle in the "land of down under" because he the star from Vietnam. Now he a Great Great Professor of beauty salon nails(Podiatry) making sure all the ladies alway beautipful in his eye.

The aristocracy has been trying to get the peasant back on the estate since the Magna Carta. The innate hubris of those who amass great wealth...

The American experiment stuck badly int heir craw. A country where a bicycle mechanic could go from the backyard workshop to a mansion in Grosse Pointe. Major ripples in the old money social hierarchy. Never really accepted despite wealth that eclipsed theirs.
