Been saying this for 29 years. Religion does not require a deity. Religion is a series of values and principles. To The Left, The State is the focus of their religion. Congress is their college of Cardinals, and lawyers are their priests. This explains the religious fervor with which they support their causes—causes I may add that often fly in the face of mountains of evidence to the contrary. Their religion is every bit as faith-based as any of the worlds deity-based religions.

Pretty ignorant about Christianity: bishops did have endless discussions about the nature of Christ. In any case, Christian fundamentalism is not wrong in and of itself

as a fundamentalist, I would consider this individual someone who believes in the Bible and basic beliefs of Christianity. That is Christ coming in the flash to save people from there sins. I don’t believe fundamentalism in any sense is a belief in the ecology, environment, etc.
