By all accounts, Kim Kardashian and estranged husband Kanye West are heading towards divorce — and a source close to the rapper tells PEOPLE that he is struggling as reality sets in.

"Kanye is not doing well," the source tells PEOPLE in its latest issue. "He is anxious and very sad. He knows that the marriage is over, and there's nothing that can be done right now. He also knows what he is losing in Kim."

I hope he gets well. He was getting weird for a while. His children still need him

He is also anxious and sad because he struggles with Bipolar disorder and that unfortunately goes with the disorder. High highs and low lows. Also, many with bipolar have an anxiety disorder with it. It is very difficult to maintain relationships with this illness, not impossible but challenging. He needs to put his treatment first. I hope he doesn't harm himself or worse, if it puts him in a depressive state of his bipolar. I also hope none of his children suffer with mental illness when they are older. I have a bad feeling one or more of them may, as it can be genetic and it's now in the family. Sad.
