We have been so curious for seeing more user footage from the Vazen. So great to see a comparison. This was great! Hopefully we start getting more anamorphic options.

I'm just happy that we're able to have a conversation about being able to purchase a real anamorphic lens for less that $30K. How far we've come.

IMO the Sirui flares and bokeh aren’t pronounced enough versus just buying a decent anamorfake spherical set and calling it a day, and while the Vazen 28mm is a fantastic little gem, the other two are ham-fisted lumps that sour the set and may as well be replaced with one full Rapido package and a good adapter scope. If I had to pick one improvement to implement on each lineup, it would be these: Sirui should integrate oval aperture mechanisms to augment their weak squeeze factor aesthetic, and Vazen should ditch the front diopter lenses in favor of filling out the set with primes that use the focusing design of the 28mm.

Great video! Just used the Vazen 40mm with a Blackmagic Pocket 4k for a music video recently — along with an iPhone 11 pro max with a 1.33x adapter on it. Really fun shoot. Definitely been curious about the Sirui's, but at this point I just see so much more "anamorphic quality" from the 1.8 crop factor over the 1.33x, regardless of the brand. That's the biggest selling point for me. Hoping to get my hands on the Vazen 28mm in the not-too-distant future. Between the 28 and 40 it really does feel like you can cover darn near everything you'd want to cover in a professional shoot.

Thanks so much for this video! I thought anamorphic was definitely out of my price range forever, but now that i know about Sirui... !!!

Thanks for this video. I just pick-up the Sirui 75mm a couple week ago on Sale at B&H. It was not the 35mm or 50mm I really wanted, but for $399 or $500 off MSRP I was not going to pass it up as I do want to get the whole range eventually. The build quality is really nice from what I can tell. I'm only just getting into this, but I'm really having fun with it so far.

You are fantastic. I am just learning about these Chinese cheap cines, and would love to hear about Meike, Vespid, vs. Sirui, Vazen etc.

In large part because of these VERY helpful videos, I'm going to start shooting weddings (in Anamorphic) this April using the Sirui 50mm. Based on what I've learned, I think that's a good starting point for me. In 2022, I might use the Vazen 40mm as my A Lens. Thanks, Tito!

It's hard to argue the slightly better performance for triple the price. Really like the Sirui for their value

Bueno, nada mas agradecer tus videos y tu esfuerzo... thx!!

Very comprehensive review, having 2 of the Sirui series and having worked with the Vazen, I have to say quality is very close, and it really comes down to budget. Just because you roll up to set with a series of Sirui lens, does not mean you can’t get the job done! 👍

Well, I just bought the Sirui 50mm as a taster to see what I can get out of it, so this is very exciting!

When you can get 5 Sirui lenses for the price of 1 Vazen lens, the choice is clear. Go with Sirui. It's not that the Sirui lenses are horrible, they just desqueeze differently at different focus range. It's a bit of a pain when you're editing but nothing you can't fix. If the Vazens were sharper or had wider aperture than maybe It could justify being 5 times more expensive than the Sirui but unfortunately it isn't.
