Ryzen 5 3600 + RTX 4060 - Tested in 16 Games

In this video, I'm testing the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with the Nvidia RTX 4060 8GB in different games like Fortnite and Cyberpunk. The Ryzen 5 3600 is already almost 5 years old, but it still holds up pretty good, even in recent games. The Ryzen 5 3600 has 6 cores and 12 threads, has a TDP of 65W, has a frequency of 3.6 GHz and a turbo frequency of 4.2 GHz. The Nvidia RTX 4060 8GB came out in the middle of 2023, it has 8GB of GDDR6 memory with a memory speed of 17Gbps and a bandwith of 128 bits. It has 53072 cuda cores with a turbo frequency of 2.535GHz.

Summary:
As can be seen in the video, the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 can game perfectly fine with the RTX 4060, but it isn't the best combo as the bottleneck of this combo lays on the CPU as the Ryzen 5 3600 isn't powerfull enough for the RTX 4060, especially at 1080p and in high CPU intensive games like Rainbow Six Siege, CSGO 2, Fortnite Performance, BeamNG and Cyberpunk, but if you're planning on mostly gaming at 1440p in GPU intensive games, then you can use this combo perfectly fine, so if you already have the Ryzen 5 3600 with another GPU and are considering to upgrade to the RTX 4060 while still having the R5 3600 and are planning to upgrade your CPU later, you can do that.

Testing method:
Latest and up to date Windows 10 Pro (activated) with only the game running, dedicated game launcher and MSI Afterburner. No settings have been tweaked in Windows, only the bios has been set to the XMP profile to run the ram at its dedicated speed. The gaming footage is then captured using the Elgato HD60X that runs to a laptop, in this case the Dell Vostro 7620.

Just a little tip for anyone trying to run fortnite. With these epic settings he has on, ray tracing is ENABLED which is what tears apart cards. You can most definitely play epic settings but turn that shit off bc it dont do nun

Thanks for the benchmarks, but I seriously wouldn't consider testing with games like GTA 5 witcher 3 battlefield 5, Alan wake 2 cyberpunk and new games with ray tracing are best for testing the RTX cards

i got the exact same, but only 16 gigs of ram and im getting half the FPS is it cause the ram? or do i need to do something (UPDATE) I ADDED 2 MORE 8GB RAM STICKS, IT WORKS BETTER NOW BUT I STILL FEEL I SHOULD GET SOME MORE JUICE

I’m currently running a 3600 and 4060, and with all my settings on low and my gpu slightly overcloked I am seeing a fraction of these frames, specifically on cs2. Anyone have any input as to why? I opened task manager when the game was running and the gpu was only working at 2-5% and the cpu was around 15-20%
