Physicists at CERN have been pondering how to store and share their ever more massive data for decades - stimulating globalization of the internet along the way, whilst 'solving' their big data problem. So, it would be a bad thing to encourage people not to run red lights? Sometimes you're forced to, like if there's a badly calibrated sensor and you're riding a motorcycle, so there should be an exception there. But other than that... why are you opposed to the enforcement of traffic laws? If they're super anal retentive, like if you go a centimeter over a crosswalk it fines you, then that would be an understandable concern. But your example is actually a GOOD thing.
