Dr Tim Smith uses examples from physics to illustrate the value and benefit of decentralised, open-source search online. Tim is an Open Science advocate who launched CERN’s Open Data Portal to share Large Hadron Collider big data with the world. He also worked to nurture Zenodo, an open data service for worldwide science, as part of the European Commission’s OpenAIRE project.
