What Will It Take for Flying Car Racing to Be a Reality?

A Formula One-like race for flying cars may sound futuristic, but the idea may not be that far away. Airspeeder is trying to develop a new racing series where pilots will climb aboard eVTOL aircraft and race around a virtual circuit in the sky. But in order to get their racing series to take off, there’s a few hurdles they need to overcome first.

This could've happen maybe 50 years ago but today we live in a more refined times with implementation of new restrictions and safety guidance every year. Racing is a contact sport, what's gonna happen when two of these drones will collide midair? Simple roll cage for miata weights around 100lbs. These drones must be either very heavy or very slow to give its pilots a chance to survive in a crash.
