In Singapore, with so many cases of people's personal particulars been leaked by corporations, and also when you send out or upload your resume online. It can be quite easy and coincident that people can match your name to IC number or contact number. Those information can be used or sell to people online. As long as there is an automated call when you pick up the phone, just ignore and hang up. I hope Telcos in Singapore will have their phone plans give account holders the option to bar all overseas call. Then these scammers will have to use a local number to call victims and it can be traced easier to the culprits.

1. Between the DHL, OCBC and Singapore Police (SPF) phone phishing scams, the worst would have to be the SPF one in which if a person were to call back, he/she would reach 999, thus potentially choking up our emergency system and harming lives.

2. Whose identities did the scammers utilise in order to register those Singapore-based phone numbers from which they call?
