Edgers are for the heavy overgrown, rough cuts the trimmer for the finish or light edging depends on the type of job.

Depends on how much edging you have to do. I've got portions too far gone to line trim.

I start the rough stuff with an edger with the blade and then clean it up with a string trimmer to get that crisp edge.

Blade trimmer is the best, but I don't have one so I use a string trimmer. Because my edges get cleaned up every other week I have no need of a bladder trimmer. String works just fine. In this case he NEEDS a blade trimmer..

Although you are the master at line trimmer edging, I prefer blade as it produces a better result for those who aren’t you. And, the bits of the metal blade that are worn off are less harmful to the environment than the plastic bits from the line trimmer. We are putting way too much plastic into the environment.
