How Were the Pillars in Madurai Meenakshi Temple Carved?

There is a mysterious temple in Tamil Nadu India which makes us wonder how much Advanced the ancient civilizations were the temple is located in the Madurai district of Tamil Nadu and is famously known as the Madurai Meenakshi Temple it forms the largest temple complex in the state and is dedicated to goddess Meenakshi. many ancient sources claim that this Temple was constructed by the orders of Lord Siva and from then on it has been renovated by various rulers and Kings for thousands of years one thing about the temple which boggles the mind is a section called the Hall of thousand pillars this is perhaps the most beautiful and stunning piece of architecture present within any ancient structure discovered yet and the icing on the cake it is this Hall and its pillars were carved out of a single piece of a huge Rock no room for any error could it really be the work of chisels and hammers

Yes, I am a native of madurai. This temple was built by the middle Pandian dynasty in 1100AD.The speciality of the temple is the fine intrinsic design of the thousands of dolls(bommais) that have been etched on the towers(gopurams) of the temple.
