" Today , some people might view #Gaza (#Palestine) as a distant place with no connection to us , even openly stating this . However , just a century ago , for our nation & country Gaza was as significant as #Adana is to us today . Just like #Edirne is to #Skopje , #Kırklareli is to #Thessaloniki , #Mardin is to #Mosul , #Gaziantep is to #Aleppo , Gaza was an integral part of our homeland . When you visit the #Çanakkale Martyrs Memorial , pay attention to the names & cities on the tombstones . You'll see that there are #Gazans & #Skopje residents lying side by side with #Balıkesir & #Şanlıurfa residents . Infact , on the list of #Çanakkale martyrs , Gaza with it's 53 martyrs , stands above many cities within our borders today from these lands but also did everything to uproot them from our minds & hearts . We must never forget the lessons we learned from the dark days when millions of our people lost their lives & millions had to seek refuge in #Anatolia . When we come together to support our #Palestinian brothers & sisters in Gaza , let us depart with the determination to never allow new #Gazas to emerge . A century ago , what Adana meant for this nation , Gaza meant the same ."
