There was also a transition period after K2 acquisition where they were still labeled Girvin forks but had Noleen branded shocks fitted to them. I remember being at the shop once and someone brought in their K2 to be serviced...it was one of the last Noleen linkage forks with the smart shock that took a 9v battery and Easton carbon legs. I still kick myself to this day for not taking it out for a ride to see if the electric damper actually was any good (in that time, at least).

Back in the day I used all those forks. I think the AMP was my favorite.

The AMP worked 9 months. 3 to get everything going, then 3 where it worked and getting looser the last 3. Then send in to service ...another 3 months.😂

Damn that thing was light and rigid.

Suspension travel of that Thing would now be called SAG.😂

Yay, linkage forks!! But which one was the best (least worst)???

The Control Tech Leaders were great "big hit" forks at the time, but yeah, pivots became a four-letter word.

Is it possible to retrofit a modern shock onto a Noleen fork? I have one that I'd like to use, but the shock is not happy, pivots are fine though. It's a later dark gray model with a coil shock, and M5 mounting hardware I think.

I have a Mongoose Amplifier (aka Amp Research) and had to have Kevin Risse machine me parts for that Amp fork!
