i have uses an old hand towel as a chain whip before. worked quite well actually. just tie it tightly around the cassette until the cogs dig into the fabric good and deep.

Guarantee a Land Rover WILL break down Doddy ;)

At 13:30 Getting a cassette off can be done with a flathead screwdriver jam it from the diskbrake side through the spokes into the cassette and then use the cassette tool to losen it. Have been using this method for the last 30 years.

Let's be real Doddy, you buy a Land Rover and it WILL break down. 😂

Great video!
Doddy's home camera setup looks almost better than the studio. Audio is also really good.

That intro, love it. Stay safe Doddy, big love and keep up the original and great content.
This is something I'd like to see more often. I know you do a lot of Q&A but now is the time to answer a lot of those questions, and the time for us to work on our own bikes! I'm building my own Steel Hardcore Hardtail this weekend!

I think that shorter cranks are better at a high cadence and long cranks are better at a low cadence. That's why track cyclist tend to use short cranks.

Whoa! That was great. All that nerdy stuff makes life worth living these days when our local trails are closed under legislation.

Thanks, Doddy! Your unbridled enthusiasm is a real energizer.

Doddy, you could probably test out different length pedals using Zwift. You'd have the power meter and sensors and you'd be able to minimize variable.

6:50 finally someone puts it out there. I thought I was always riding my back brake because I was too heavy. The reason why I also have my back brake equipted with a 203mm ice and 2 Piston system. Amd yes it takes me ages to get the air out of my system. My line makes a loop on its way to the caliper.

NBT2! Next big thing 2 is a tiny cassette lockring tool, suitable for carrying on the bike, to remove a lightly tightened lockring, for example to replace broken spokes. Probably the best tool for remote adventures.

Loved my Girvin forks, everything was so flexy back then, but they were so stiff.

A length of tube with the chain threaded through, secure one end by sticking a small Allen key between two links, or a rusty old nail, improv chain whip done.

I used an impact gun on a cassette tool. And just tested my shoe on the cassette and that worked

I used a small 1/4" battery powered impact to remove cassette bolt. Simply held cassette with a dense rag and used the impact. Worked great.
