Most of us are fascinated to learn about the animals that used to walk the earth but unfortunately we have precious little to go on. Most prehistoric animals only leave behind fossils and although we can get a lot of information from these fossils, it's only natural to want to learn more. Luckily every now and again a new discovery is made that completely rocks the science world and captivates the minds of many people around the globe. On rare occasions prehistoric animals are found trapped in ice and these animals are very well preserved. In this video i will be going through just a few of these prehistoric creatures as i will be going through 8 prehistoric animals that have been found trapped in ice.

The fact that Sparta is 28.000 years old but still looks soft and huggable is insane

Sparta was actually found next to another Cub but it was later found out these two were over 1000 years apart.

I did not even know about the pirates intentionally melting permafrost to sell those animal parts on the black market. It’s truly terrible for the advancement of our understanding of these animals

2:50 the preservation on that cub is insane oh my god

The phrase wolf mummy is kind of terrifying tbh.

I was waiting for someone to make a video on this that wasn't 3 hours long. Thanks, Tsuki! Always coming in clutch.

People seem to forget a very crucial detail.

MANY of these animals were already on their way out when modern Homo sapiens came along. Steppe bison and mammoths for example...it's believed that there just weren't that many left by the time humans started hunting them.

People LOVE the idea that humans are this vile species that made extinct a bunch of species, we've certainly done that NOW but back then? No. humans hastened the extinction along, but they didn't directly cause it.

Same thing when it comes to the Dodos, there's this idea that the Dutch single-handed made them extinct, but that's simply not true.

I only agree in the cloning of animals if 1, its extinction is human related and 2, if it benefits the environment.

A video on the extinct European Auroch would be good. Stories of these animals being huge, powerful, bad tempered and aggresive make them a really interesting subject. What about a video on mega fauna around the world in the not so distant past and how they became so large compared to their ancestors today.

Dang Tsuki, this is the best video you've put out in a while imo. Really good stuff man, way to outdo yourself

Awesome video, didn't know about most of these. Kinda surprised the Mammoth Cube didn't make the list

I can't wait for them to find a frozen cave hyena. Those buggers were _everywhere_ in Pleistocene Eurasia.

I'm new to your channel, this was great stuff. Looking forward to checking out more of your videos. Well done! 👍

Is cloning a prehistoric animal any worse than when we cloned that sheep? I guess its pretty jarring to un-extinct a creature for a few years to observe it a bit, but ethically i don't think its any worse than keeping other exotic animals. Assuming care is taken they can still live good lives

Some years ago, I read of a find of three cave lion cubs found in a cave. The cubs had been quite young, and died when their den collapsed while the mother left to find food.

I didn't even know some of these specimens before this video. I especially didn't know that extractable blood was even a possibility!

Will we ever find a mummified neanderthal or Denisovan?

Oh, I've seen that wolf pup in person! She's at the Beringia Centre in Whitehorse! They also have a horse which could have made it on this list.
