We have already released a few of videoss about dinosaurs, the largest animals to ever walk the Earth, but in reality, in the prehistoric age, practically all animals and plants were far bigger than their present day equivalents. Here are 37 extinct animals that would make their modern counterparts look like teddy bears, from an elephant-sized sloth to a car-sized armadillo.

Most of these "ancestors" were evolutionarily modern animals that lived alongside the modern animal. They were contemporary cousins, not ancestors.
