As an Indian, I believe being clubbed with China is doing it more harm than good. However, I think India will continue to be associated with BRICS as it doesn't want to signal to China that it is completely in the western camp. India has some very dangerous neighbours, therefore it needs to play this very carefully.

The biggest problem with BRICS is that it doesn't really exist

India is a member in many global bodies especially the one's centered around China because it wants to be a counter weight and doesn't want those forums to be used against its interests in the region. Take Nuclear suppliers group as an example, China joined before india and now keeps vetowing India's membership.

India is there for one more reason which is, India cannot leave such a big platform entirely for China.

There's a saying "keep your friends close but your enemy closer, " and thats what India is doing.

And India is in SCO too for basically the same reason.

I would imagine India will soon leave mostly due to poor relations with China.

India's current role in BRICS and SCO is to ensure that nothing significant happens there.

China's economy is collapsing daily now (August 2023). China's economy always depended on foreign investment and now the foreigners are leaving China with their money. So a country with very serious economic problems will dominate world finance? I doubt it.

As an Indian, I sincerely thank you for this video. There are so many Indians who buy in to the “BRICS” idea but I hope more people can realize how dumb it really has become. It seems to me like just a propaganda tool nowadays used by Russia and China to try to increase their international clout.
