In this video I show you how to power and control a simple LED with a Raspberry Pi 2 Model B. You can use any Raspberry Pi with this project.

This is a great beginner electronics project that will get you introduced to using the GPIO interface on the Pi as well as some basic Python coding.

I will show you a great tip for how to get your GPIO pins figured out on the fly while you are working on a project as well!

You can purchase resistors, LED's or the Pi itself from Amazon or MicroCenter. (Not a sponsor)

The resistor used in this circuit was 330Ω. You can also use 470Ω.

ALWAYS USE A RESISTOR for projects like this!

The Pi was created by the wonderful people over at The Raspberry Pi Foundation:

There are plenty of great guides on their website as well, so please consider visiting to learn more!
