The Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management, and Meteorology (MECDM), through the Climate Change Division, conducted a 7-day training in Honiara during the first quarter of 2023. The training was held for the Australian Humanitarian Partnership (AHP), Disaster READY Partners, and key stakeholders. Its primary focus was on the Solomon Islands Integrated Vulnerability Assessment (SIIVA) tool.
The objective of the SIIVA training was to provide AHP Disaster READY Partners and their teams with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively utilize the Integrated Vulnerability and Adaptation Assessment (SIIVA) Tool. This tool is instrumental in collecting accurate data and information crucial to support the Climate Change Division in conducting climate vulnerability assessments within Solomon Islands communities.
