Absolutely there should be a ban of nuts and alcohol in flights.. no one needs either of those things when flying and they always cause trouble!

I don't understand why there's not a blanket ban on nuts on airplanes. No one is going to die through having to go without nuts for the duration of their flight but the best outcome to an anaphylactic reaction at 40000 feet is an emergency landing for medical treatment and delays for all on board. I have no allergies and have never objected when cabin crew have requested for everyone to avoid eating nuts

The thing is. I’m a flight attendant and if a passenger said they have a server nut allergy. Straight away I’d let my senior know and make a nut allergy announcement. And if we had that curry for instance, we wouldn’t serve it to anyone

This terrifies me… my little 6 year old daughter has a severe nut allergy… so many people don’t take it seriously enough!!!

I would be putting a massive claim in against the airline

There's no harm on putting a ban on nuts being served on the aircraft. It is rare for this to happen - They need to take responsibility for this as it's completely negligent.
Glad he's speaking up, they need to take accountability.

Our 6yr old was diagnosed when he turned one with a peanut allergy, 8months later we discovered his allergy was airborne after anaphylaxis. The horror of flying for us is beyond anything and i certainly would never allow our son to eat anything that we haven’t bought or made because the risk is too high for us

The thing with an aeroplane is that if anything goes wrong there's no way off.

I commented on a previous post about being worried to take my 11 year old daughter on our first flight in August. She has a peanut allergy. Someone commented laughing saying “you should let nature takes its course”. I cannot believe the attitude of people.

So agree. No nuts on the plane. They are not even good

I am Cabin Crew & I am furious this happened. I always go out of my way to make sure passengers are aware of the ingredients in the food if they say they have an allergy.

I will say the best thing to do (if you can do it) is self cater if you have severe allergies to guarantee you can eat. I had a passenger allergic to Onions & all food had onion in it.

I’m not allergic to nuts but I don’t want them on a flight.

I look at the menu while I’m on online check in page for my airline a few days before boarding. They should have a menu on their airline screens too.

I work for an airline, if we have a nut allergy sufferer on board we always make announcements and don't even serve nuts. The weird thing though we only have nut allergy's from the Uk. In 8 years I've never had one from Italy France Germany or Switzerland. If I suffered from a nut allergy id want to see the allergens on this kind of meal.

Nuts do not need to be served on flights. If anyone wants nuts you can wait until you land.

I was on a flight to Tenerife a couple of months ago. The cabin crew announced that somebody had a severe nut allergy on board, so nobody was allowed nuts. During the flight a girl walked to the front of the aircraft where I was sitting next to her friend. She started to eat and offer her friend chocolate with nuts in it. Some people are so selfish.

They used to give out the menu they stopped it 3-4 years ago but you can see the menu on the internet page when board the flight
