In 2001 the TV documentary 'Wingspan' was released, which gave an overview of Paul's early solo career and his adventures with Wings.

In this clip which was an extra on the DVD, Paul tells Mary McCartney about his love of birdwatching as a child. There is definitely a bird theme to many of his songs over the years.

Enjoy!

I could watch you two all day long, a dad and his daughter having a great time together, just chatting about stuff. Lots of love to you both❤

He is a very, very bright and introspective person, an interesting person and, as with all entertainers, a chameleon who can play every part....and yes, that word which is generally overused, but not in his case...a Genius. I consider myself to have been fortunate to have walked this Earth in the same time. I met him once, a long, long time ago when he and John Lennon were lost (very temporarily) because their chauffeur had taken a wrong turn going to 'The City Barge' pub, on Strand-on-the-Green, Chiswick, London, when they were filming the movie 'Help'. I was outside my apartment on a private road at about 08:30 starting my little Francis Barnet motor cycle, on my way to Ealing art College, and a large, black Rolls Royce pulled up beside me, the chauffer rolled down his window and asked how to get there...he had taken a wrong turn. I quickly explained it and he said I noticed who was in the back seat. They just smiled pleasantly...I didn't try to bother them.

He's spoken before of enjoying walking in the woods by himself as a kid and even as an adult when he needs to be alone. That's where the song "Mother Natures Son" came from.

Birds are amazing little creatures, flying around (no pun intended) *Free as a Bird, * I think I'm kind of a little jealous to be honest ... One of the great *Highlights* in my life happened on Sunday June 13, 1993 attending *Paul McCartney* Concert in Philadelphia Pa... Sir Paul was amazing that night, with an added bonus to see Linda too... btw: before the concert my brother handed me a small plastic bag. I asked him what's this, he told me earplugs, so you won't hurt your ears... I told him no way, I waited 30 years for this night, I want them ringing for the next week 🙂 ...
The Late Larry King called *Paul McCartney* an *Icon* above all icons, and he was/is sooo right... Please keep these short clips coming♪♫♪

Dungeon lane and Oglet ( oggie ) shore . Speke hall, The mill ( millies) woods, The blue bell woods to name but a few . My grandmother knew Paul’s mother and growing up in speke, our house ( though McCartney had left by then ) backed on to theirs . We also lived next to Stockton ( stocko ) wood rd school and I would eagerly race around there from returning from my own school ( st Chrissie’s ) St Christopher’s to attend the after school playgroup each evening .
