I heard some one say "I stopped calling it endometriosis and started calling it chronic peritonitis - now people take my pain seriously." I think this video captured that concept so well!

I was diagnosed with endometriosis 5 years ago and, after a flare up of symptoms, I am back in a rabbit hole of trying to research about it. I'm so glad I stumbled across this video. The best summary I have found so far. You explain things in such an accessible, yet thorough way. Definitely a resource I will be sharing with others in the future. Thank you.

I was diagnosed in 2017- I had a pelvic ultra sound done where they found a cluster of three chocolate cysts on my right ovary. Because of my very limited insurance at the time I didn't want to do surgery, I didn't want to have a medically induced menopause and I felt the many different low dose birth control options we were trying were making my symptoms worse. I stopped taking the bc, quit my highly stressful job, and dove deeper with my movement practice. I've been working on my hormone imbalance with adjusting my diet and doing my best not to stress. Just had my yearly well Woman exam and not to get my hopes too high, but my new Dr said everything looked normal on my pelvic ultrasound. I hope it stays normal- I haven't had a cyclical flare up in many months! Speaking only from my personal journey: Stress management, diet and any exercise or movement of anykind that you can do as often as you can will help regulate your hormones and ideally help bring your body back to "normal".

I just had a hysterectomy today with removal of my fallopian tubes and ovaries. I have PMDD and PCOS, so this surgery was a worst case scenario for PMDD relief. When i woke up this afternoon my doctor came in and told me that he'd found endometriosis! I've been unable to get pregnant and figured it was PCOS that prevented that. I've had numerous ultrasounds and was always told everything was healthy and previous doctors wouldn't let me have a hysterectomy. I delt with the symptoms for over 15 years and was gaslit by so many doctors. This new doctor who performed my surgery instantly said yes and helped me! If you're experiencing issues like i did, please keep searching for help. Don't give up!
Now I'm recovering and am so thankful i had the surgery!!

I can't even begin to explain how helpful this was for me on a personal level.

I know that the video is 5 years old, but the information is extremely useful and simply explained. Another Endometriosis symptom worth highlighting is low egg reserve.

Women with Endometriosis tend to have a decreased ovarian reserve, compared to similarly aged healthy women or women with other benign ovarian cysts.

My friend is suffering from this disease. I wish I could do more to help her. We are starting a lifestyle journey on Monday where we will be doing exercises and dietary changes to help in some way. I really hope she can get through this. It's killing me to see her in so much pain. Thank you for this video, was really helpful!

Brilliant video especially helps explain the condition to loved ones who feel helpless when we're in pain. It is comforting to know that one can still have children with this condition. Thank you.

My beloved daughter has this affliction. She is 32.... In her prime. Sometimes, I (stupidly slip) asking about a grandchild like I did last Friday. I am sure I made her feel bad after understanding more exactly what this is. Thanks for the vid and the important information.

I suffer from endometriosis and aside the excruciating nature of the pain (physical), it highly affects me emotionally (sadness mainly due to dismissal of my experience) and mentally (anxiety, suicidal thoughts, ptsd).

I’m just so tired of this condition. It makes me very sad. Every month the quality of my life needs to be majorly affected for 3 days at least.

I was diagnosed in 1990 at the age of 16. Laporascopy was done when I was 30, tried all but the coil during the first two yrs. The treatments weren’t helping so I just dealt with it. At the age of 40, I had another laporscopic procedure and as my doc put it I was in severe Stage IV. Long story short, I had a c-section to ‘deliver’ a uterus, both ovaries, and fallopian tubes. It was so bad the adhesions were pulling it all together my stomach was shaping into a point. Please take care of yourselves and luckily Endometriosis is finally getting recognized. ps I had two miscarriages and accepted the fact I wouldn’t be able to have children.

Thank you for this video. I have severe stage IV Endometriosis, and I was looking for a way to describe it to others. I found the video spot on, and runs along with my knowledge and research. Very easy to understand and just the right length. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing. In as much as it is scary, the pictorial method used has helped me understand better than the doctors did.
