F1 Drivers & Teams DEMAND MAJOR CHANGES To F1 RULES After Verstappen's MOVES During Austin GP!

▶︎▶︎ The FIA has been under a lot of scrutiny after the Austin GP, as it seems like many experts feel like the inconsistency in dishing out penalties has been quite visible. From the moment the lights went out, Verstappen and Norris went into a duel in Turn 1 that many feel should’ve been a penalty for the Dutchman – similar to how he went into a duel into Turn 12 with Sainz – but the fact that Norris and Russell were penalized for similar behaviors has aggravated the Formula 1 community. The question is – are these patterns from the same nature and if so – is the FIA really biased, as Wolff called it?

CODA was a joke as far as FIA penalties! They're losing American spectators; did you see all the empty seats? BEN needs to go! America wants the Andretti's!

Why not implement the rule whomever is ahead at the turn in point like every other series, and IMO is the reason you cannot move under braking as you are setting up for the turn in and at that point physics takes over - and further what is the point of at the apex - you should be getting back into the throttle at that point

Drivers are required to stay on the track. If a driver does not stay on the track, whether deliberately or because he does not have sufficient control of his car, and takes another driver with him, that is forcing another driver off the track and a penalty offence.

Max did this twice and received no penalties. In fact, they didn't even investigate. It is becoming clear that the FIA have no interest in being consistent with their issuance of such penalties.

The FIA are continuing to drag their reputation down along with that of the sport. It's time all the teams got together, broke away from the FIA and formed their own governing body.

The decision to penalise Norris was correct to the letter of the rules but not the spirit, which means the rules are flawed and need to change. It's simple instead of basing it on who's ahead at the apex, base it on who's ahead at the start of the braking zone. That way a driver will be unable to stop people overtaking by simply braking way too late and running them off the track. It's not rocket science, it's a really simple fix to solve a dangerous problem.

Mclaren are not stupid! they knew exactly what was done and there would be a 5 sec penalty.. Else why would lando push so hard to pull out a 5 sec gap between max and himself! FIA should have given the rightful 10 sec penalty to Lando as he not only overtook and gained advantage, he also had track limits violation and a black & white flag!

The FIA has an obvious bias towards favouring the RedBull team in every incidence where Max Verstappen is involved! Why this is, has to be brought to light and stopped! In race after race Max has run his opponents off the track without any penalty & gained places when he should have been penalized for dangerous driving! This has been going on for years with nothing being done! Max is not just aggressive but dangerous. Because he has not been punished as he should he now thinks that he is immune & he is allowed to drive in this manner!

Dear Hill, this is motor racing! It is not as simple as driving your car from your home to the supermarket.

Slinging a car up the inside shouldn’t count as being ahead at apex 🤷🏻‍♂️ lando should have just turned into max it’s the only way he will learn ! Look at max vs Hamilton in monza max turns in and over lewis others should do it to him !! If Norris took both cars out he would be in a better place than he is now

Max is using the rules to his advantage like he always has done. The rules has to change for more fairness. But with new rules comes new advantageous ways will surface

Car 1 was off the track so was not racing. Hence Lando did not overtake until car 1 was back on the track

It seems consistent that the Stewards have a broader allowance for Lap 1. I think this makes sense but I am not sure how you would codify that.

Nope, nobody demanding, only McLaren and its fans. If a car that tries to overtake another car in a corner but is not ahead of said car at the apex (!!!) it is gaining an advantage if that car passes the other car. Either that car gives the position back to te past car, or it (in this case Norris)) receives a 10 seconds penalty, just as the rules says. FIA was gracious to give just a 5 seconds penalty.

How many times will M.V. get away with forcing other drivers off the track? He's done this numerous times at other tracks too. His mentality is "You leave the track, or we crash", He's like a spoilt brat spitting his dummy out. Something needs to be done before someone is killed

There is a total bias towards Redbull & Max it's a joke how can a driver clearly run another off the track and not only did max not get a penalty but Lando did that's just 1 of a couple of times Max ran drivers off the track and the stuards didn't do there job correctly major changes are needed.

somebody commented in the chat that theres so many cry babies and that it was hard racing go on Max well that's fine but has to work both ways M.V doesnt like being on the receiving end of hard racing .
