First Class on Luxury Ice Breaker Cruise | Ponant

Join me as I spend 5 days on a luxury Icebreaking cruise ship, Le Commandant Charcot, as we head North to Iceland. I’ll show you exactly what it’s like onboard from our first class suite over two floors, the dining and facilities such as the spa & blue lagoon pool. This level of indulgence doesn’t come cheap though with prices north of $13,000 dollars, so let’s see if it’s really worth the money.

You’ve now done 2/4 of the most unique purpose built ships, (this and Queen Mary) and I really hope you do the other 2! One is the Endeavour, originally built for Crystal, it’s now owned by Silverseas. It was designed specifically to cross the Drake Passage to Antarctica. The other is the Aranui 5; a half cargo half cruise ship that sails around French Polynesia! Very weird looking and unique.

This is the first ship I have ever thought... "Yeah, I'd like to do that!" Stunning room, great amenities, and French inspired menus -- "How bad can that be?" (Ina Garten). I’ve been on this cruise before and it’s outstanding. One of, if not the greatest cruises I’ve ever been on. Despite being a somewhat decent sized ship (quite small by comparison), the level of entertainment was superb and the intimacy was quite noticeable. I met many a good friends on this ship, some of whom I’ve travelled with many times since. Excellent selection with this one TT, I’m so happy you’ve shown this off.

Going in knowing that this is not the "usual" cruise to tropical places and warm sandy beaches, as long as you bring the appropriate clothing, this looks like a great cruise. I will dare say, having Millie with you while staying in that unprecedented, incredible room made it even more stunning. Always a pleasure seeing her with you on these "deluxe" trips. And the price for what you get really doesn't seem out of line. Would have been interesting to see a cruise ship breaking ice though. Maybe another time.
