Clay surface does this. Inconsistencies in different areas of the surface. Helped of course by the spin but mostly was the surface imperfection.

Mistake in the surface, but it really happens that the ball is regularly 2 meters high against big servers even behind the baseline

I did one like that to a lefty on the ad court it bounded over a 10ft fence. I was trying. I haven’t done it since. That was 3o yrs ago. Everyone asked why don’t you do that everytime. I said, “if I knew how I did it I would”.

That and also Paolini is very small do it makes the height look even bigger.

We used to play on this clay court in Elk Grove, California where there was some pretty suspect bounces. I had one kicker that hopped over the BACK FENCE lol! Aimed for that spot the majority of the match ;-)

In d 80's / 90's Johnny Mac n Stefan Edberg mastered this type of shot which is getting more n more unusual cuz nowadays a player always try 2 overpower his opponent hence I gotta say 2 Vikhlyantseva bravo given that in this case not only she win d point using cleverness insted of force but d ball seems 2 get @ above 11 feet (!?) thus perhaps only Pistol Pete by 1 of his trademark slum dunk could be able 2 return this unbelievable kick serve👌

The service line gave it a bounce boost for sure. Though it may have been a great kick with out it. No man has a kick serve that exceptional without assistance of something on the surface of the court.

Was playing comp at my local club some years back and one of my teammates got a kick serve that hit the nail on the line and went clean over his head and over the top of the back fence too!
