I've always thought we have a limited free will...He must increase and I must decrease. Humble Obedience...

It's not complicated. We have free will but we only choose what is within our range of preferences, or our nature. We do not choose our nature. God elects, appoints, and chooses. He is the potter who made some vessels for glory and some for wrath.

How do you know if you are saved? You love Him. You persevere to the end. You have fruits. You have repented.

It's not complicated.

You cannot force someone to want God. In fact, we are specifically told that no one would choose Him.

This is a worthy study. It glorifies God and sees man clearly.

Of course we have free will.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you. Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭32:8-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

At the 4 second mark, I pause to offer my answer to the question posed by the title: Without firm belief that humans (and angels also) are gifted with freewill, NOTHING makes sense!

We “make use” of our freewill when we decide to ask a question!

And, again, human freewill influences our reaction, if any, to answers that are later received, if any. Without freewill, all human communication, verbal conversation and writing and “other”, is just NOISE. (And, finally, one can use their freewill to choose to BELIEVE that all human communication is actually just “Noise”.)

From Gods perspective all has already been done. He knows the hairs on your head. He knows all that has is and ever will happen. Everything! I mean Everything ever!

God is able to know the future and still give us a choice. We are bound by time. God is not. For more on this topic, No King But Caesar & The Return Of The Melchisedec is available online at Advantage Books. Peace to all.

We are all susceptible to being misled. Good people, other than Christians, need not worry about Satan. The darkness does not pursue those people. The devil does everything possible to cast a negative light on the children of light. Satan is not to be underestimated. He had the support of a third of the angels before they were expelled from God's heaven.

John 16:33 "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

You addressing this topic, like many before you and no end in sight to the debate, is the best answer: if man did not have free will, he would not ask this question over and over and over yet again. I mean, not having free will and still wondering if? For millennia? If that isn't an answer all by itself, I don't know.. So yeah, to me it's obvious. Just like that other dumb question: do we live in a simulation? No person asks that question right after stepping on a lego.. So no. Obviously not.
