Hey Folks!
The summer sessions are over. They should have ended last month but don't judge me, I'm a busy man.
Finishing it off with some more 2022 + 2024 data on the ring nebula! SO unbelievably proud of this image. The amount of detail on such a small target is ASTOUNDING.
These summer sessions have been amazing. I love thinking about the passing of time over long periods of time but even in 5 months, life seems to have changed completely. Doing this hobby regularly and relying on only the weather and not term schedules is amazing and not to sound dramatic, reminds me of what makes me tick.
As I said in the video, we are viewing the end of a story. Any chance of life or planetary system around this star is dead. Long dead. And while it is a fairly "young" planetary nebula, its leaps ahead of us. Our star will one day do this and everything you and I have ever known, will know and will not know will stop existing. And after that, time will keep on ticking passed us.
All the more reason to enjoy your time here. Don't take forever, you're not here for long.
That got dramatic. This season has been amazing! I've got high aspirations for autumn and I hope to see you all there. Thanks for coming with me on this!
Clear skies! Never stop looking up.
