You make the best videos for learning astronomy. I love how you try to use your channel to help fight light pollution.

last night I was able to image M57 from my uber light polluted frontyard in northern Delaware, using nothing but a canon 7d and a 200mm lense. I did this using only vega as a reference and aiming the camera "sort of where" the nebula was supposed to be to then shoot a couple of 12800 iso test pictures just to confirm framing.    M57 looks tiny in the frame but the oval "greenish" donut was quite exciting to see given what I had to work with

Hi there, with you`r help David I  found M57 or NGC 6720, The Ring Nebula, I found it just after you did a Video on it, with my 120mm Refractor, I could see a smoke type ring, went up to Local Observatory at Springbook, & saw it through  a 41cm =16-inch Reflector, WOW, I never seen it before, The colors were amazing, thanks David

Thanks for the tip! I have an 8 inch reflector, which has a red dot finder. I put the red dot between Sulefat and Sheliak and I was able to see the ring nebula. Very helpful.

Thanks for the info on M57, , in Australia it`s only about 15 degree high, it gets a bit higher in a month, I`ll try to locate it soon. Thanks David

Can't get enough of these fun and  highly informative little videos you make!  Keep up the great work.

There's a lot of chatter and debate in my local club, the SJAA.net, about which filter (narrow band, OIII, etc, ) to use on planetary nebulas, emission nebulas,  and galaxies.  Any thoughts or favorites?  What filter do you use for The Ring? Thanks.
