Spent most of the day trying to flash LineageOS on a Pixel 5a that was given to me. No joy. Got hung up on "fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img". Phone went into boot loop going back to Fastboot every time. I used PixelFlasher from XDA to flash the stock rom with root. Then I followed your video. At first it was the same issue - stuck in boot loop going to the Fastboot screen. Then I changed the active slot from B to A (fastboot --set-active=a) and again performed "fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img". Even though I had done this same step several times today - reflashing the OS with PixelFlasher and then using your steps adn then changing the active slot worked! 6 hours later and I'm up and running! Thanks for showing the steps!
