0. Intro (0:00)

1. Simplify your priorities (0:37)
- Say NO more often to everything else, be more comfortable with it. Saying NO will say YES to the important things
- 2-3 things I wanna make progress on RIGHT NOW that is important to me, for e.g. health, career/money, social media, academics, side hustle, etc.

2. Parkinson's law (3:46)
- "The work tends to expand to fill the time allotted for its completion"
- Integrate this in deadlines. If you never keep a deadline, the task will fill up the entire time, it will just keep getting bigger with no real progress.
- Start making deadlines for yourself. Don't aim for perfection, chase progress.
- Integrate these deadlines with time blocking in your daily schedule. Don't worry if task isn't complete in that time, just aim you doing the task in that time, progress over perfection.
- Eventually goal is to have Intense blocks of time to max efficiency, instead of longer sessions spread out over a longer time.

3. Planning and structure (7:26)
- Integrate 15-30-45 minute blocks of time to productive tasks, instead of doomscrolling. These time blocks will compound over a long time.
- This will only happen only if you have a proper structure.
- Can be in format of weekly/monthly/yearly. Longer time frames are difficult for accountability, especially in the beginning. Recommended to start with a weekly+/monthly one. Keep honest accountability about the time frame and progress during it, change the routines and habits as needed to fit the priorities.
- Important to get out of the mindset that if everything (full todo list) is not completed then the day is "unsuccessful". Keep note of progress in your priorities, which can be 3-4 tasks a day, which will compound. Unrealistic expectations will only make you unhappy at the end of the day.
- Make it so that the routine is manageable long term.

4. Task layering (11:08)
- 1 low cognitive effort task + 1 medium cognitive effort task
- Utilize the short pockets of time that generally don't require that much cognitive effort.
- example 1: practicing active recall questions while brushing teeth.
- example 2: listening to podcasts/YouTube videos while on a walk.
- example 3: journaling while commuting
- Never do two medium cognitive effort tasks or one really easy and one really hard. Reserve your high cognitive effort tasks for when you're the most productive/focused.

5. Summary (14:11)

YES! Translating your goals into smaller steps to tackle each day (like time-blocking described here) is THE game-changer! I definitely need to get better at being proud of myself for progress versus completion, so this video is helpful. Great job, Jun! And AYYYY LET'S GO, 700K! :D

Thank you so much, Jun Yuh! Your insights have truly opened my eyes to new ways of learning. I’m thrilled to share that I recently made the Dean's List with just minimal effort while still enjoying my hobbies and spending time with my family. I can't express how grateful I am. I've also noticed a significant shift in my confidence. I used to feel scared to speak up in class, but now I feel empowered and self-assured. This newfound confidence has even enhanced my public speaking skills. Thank you for being such a positive influence!

Thanks brother, I noticed that i have been in a very toxic tyoe of cycle and i don't put deadlines to my work and end up adding backlogs and workload on my head.... I have ton of work left but I am starting to imporove myself by starting to do exercise with commitment and atleast trying to complete the backlogs.... And the last layering tasks is a very good technique which I find interesting because i have had tons of podcast reelated to my interest of my future development byt i can't collect the time to listen to it.... And also I appreciate your english, I want to speak like you with confidence and accuracy.

Thank you so much Jun Yuh I have watched every single one of your videos and they have helped me in countless ways, but I often feel pressured and criticize myself as I constantly procrastinate, and the thought of not being able to complete one task in hand, I am in 8th grade which may not seem like it is my futures break or make point but I live in India studying an IGCSE course which is a Cambridge course. I need to score well this year if I want to attend a good high school in the US as we will be traveling this year to Arizona. my world is turning upside down and I have only myself to blame for not being strong enough to focus on my studies, but your videos have given me a fresh perspective, if you have any tips for how to get better in my circumstances it would mean a lot to me if you could get back on this comment. thank you again.
