I watched this with my mom and sister 20 years or so ago when I was like 7-9 years old. Just watched it again with my mom tonight. So many moments where your eyes almost begin to well up because you can see yourself in almost all of these characters. The line between good and evil this movie shows is very unconventional and it shows true human nature

This movie gets a weird amount of trashing. I don't know, it really cut through something in me at that time. I felt changed by it. A sense of genuine compassion and basic humanity that I was resisting. I remember sharing the movie with my very conservative family and they absolutely hated it. That just confirmed my realizations from it.
