#CutTheClutter #CovidVaccineCrisis
In episode 746 of CutTheClutter, Shekhar Gupta analyses India's declining vaccination numbers and tells you how the central government erred in its inoculation strategy, by creating mass demand for vaccines without enough supply, and causing an embarrassing paradox for Indian states as they now compete in the global market for more doses.

At 17:38, the correct word is Star Trek and not Star Wars. Error is regretted

What is the cost of lies? It’s not that we’ll mistake them for the truth. The real danger is that if we hear enough lies, then we no longer recognize the truth at all

While watching this video, I was scrolling down your playlist of CTC, and its great to see how consistently and thoroughly you have covered India's faltering vaccination drive. Like, you have at least a dozen videos from early 2021 on India's vaccinations. Most journalists started pointing out India's slow vaccination drive only recently when the cases have surged, but not you, SG, you've been consistent in pointing this out even when the cases were at record low.
I can't help but appreciate your effort.😎👍🏻

Some fans are going to be very annoyed that you mixed up Star Wars and Star Trek. I am happy that you brought it up :)

The need for Indian System to generate artificial scarcity and its unending thirst for power and authority is very much reminiscent of George Orwell's 1984.

I cant understand who is doing this study everyday and increasing the time gap between Covishield doses. Can't they just say that there is a shortage instead of beating around the bush and confusing everyone

Smart countries placed orders for multiple vaccines while they were in development. I would rephrase it as 'rich' countries placed orders... India could have never afforded placing orders for a 100 cr people with 4-5 vaccine manufacturers. Not to mention the mRNA vaccines which need special storage and handling at -70C. The best we could have done is bought all stocks of Covishield.

You are right, a book needs to be written about how the narendra Modi government failed India during this epidemic, especially the vaccine program and the oxygen supply.

"When you Consider yourself larger than life you think you are invincible"
That's where you are defeated. Modi thought he is invincible and Indians paid for it with their lives.

Indian vaccine policy can be summarised as *A day late and a dollar short* ....They neither helped in capacity expansion of Bharat biotech nor did they diversified the vaccine Now we watching this Carnage ... India should never forget this.

Power corrupts, corrupts absolutely; absolute power corrupts absolutely. Weak opposition makes the government complicit allowing it to do whatever they want to do.

It's a term that will resonate for years and years to come ... "This is India's Balkanisation !"
And the biggest tragic moment was that the so called Nationalists brought it upon us ..

Shekhar ji, I am paying attention to details as you suggest generally. Warp Speed is a Star 'Trek' reference. Fans of both Star Wars and Star Trek franchises don't like things getting mixed up :P
Great work with the Cut The Clutter series! :)

Most of the people getting vaccinated for free in government vaccination centres can actually pay for them happily. Govt should use that money to ramp up vaccine production and vaccinate those who can't afford for free.... Otherwise it's going nowhere 🙏

Sir, RTI Activist and peasant leader of Assam, Akhil Gogoi, has been in jail for over a year. He won from the Sivasagar constituency by contesting from jail, the first person from Assam. NIA booked him for waging war against the nation; he strongly opposed the Citizenship Amendment Act. Can you please highlight it on your programme?
