DC Police officers under investigation after video show one of them punching a man repeatedly

Three officers will be under criminal investigation by the US Attorney's Officer for the use of force that happened Sunday, according to DC Police.

How else do you disarm a man with a gun that’s not complying and resisting? Should the cop have shot him? Arresting a criminal that doesn’t want to go to jail is not gonna be pretty. This chief has already convicted this cop, what would be your motivation to go after criminals at this point.

If this wasn't more than one bad officer then why didn't any of the dozen officers that witnessed this assault arrest the assaulting officer. Cover up until I get my pension and retire with all the money in the evidence room.

Having spent 30+ years driving into DC, work and recreation, I've always felt that I owed the city, and always support commuter tax.

Given a choice, I buy in DC rather than my state, I owe DC support. I am grateful for the Chief.

Now....using all of this as an example, we can do something.

Any county that shares a border with the District....share resources.
Any state or community college that has a Criminal Justice on this.

Go nationwide -study to see what jurisdictions have done that has reduced crime.

Demand gun laws. Any gun should show where it had been purchased. Tech. Satellite imagery. Where did this gun vine from?

There have been theft reduction tags on clothing for 40 years. If someone walks into a store with a gun, alarm goes off.
Walk past a parking meter with a gun, an alarm goes off.

Where's the tech for a handheld to cause a suspect to fall down.

No time, no money. Heard that before.

Offer 10 hours overtime pay for officers to watch up to the date training. Not painful PowerPoint. Something interesting and memorable.
Once seen, never forget the Virgin Airlines safety video. Like that....

Police can't do this alone. Citizens have to help. Pro Bono training films. Every Starbucks, free coffee to uniformed officers.

Thank You sir for emphasizing ILLEGAL guns. There are hundreds of thousands of us with legal firearms who are 100% law abiding citizens who support the removal of illegal firearms. We just don't want our lives to be in jeopardy because of criminals putting guns in a negative light constantly. An (legally) armed society is a polite society.

You seems like a decent chief officer who wants to get dirty guns off the and illegal guns as well but when a person or someone from a community is being arrested they should not be missed treated that way and being punched in the face multiple times I don't care what that person's done from when he has handcuffs behind and he can't resist an arrest there was no need for that punch in the face.
